1919 Dude was going through Hell
Well starting off from the beginning, World War II was the start of pure hell for Shadrack. 1919 is probably the best chapter that I read so far. Only because its filled with detailed images and it kept me wanting to read on and on to find out what was going to happen next. It had me to the tip of my toes because of the gruesome images it portrayed in my mind at the moment. Describing how the man in war had gotten his head blown off was good but also describing how the brain was hanging down his back while he ran, still filled with energy, was the "BANG" that it needed for me. Then comes to the part that he was in the hospital and he was imagining his hand growing was a funny part to me. He got scared to look at them because he thought something was wrong with him, which it was. He ended up getting violent because he didn't want to see his hands by striking the nurse in the face knocking her over a stand. I never knew that someone would be happy being in a straightjacket. This chapter is filled with a lot of exciting things and also confusing if you really don't pay attention.
